Quote of the Day

"In my mind, you have the Have's and the Have Not Made it Yet's"
-Todd Tillman

When I first started my career in entertainment someone told me that the only ones that dont make it in this business are the ones who quit before they catch their break. But the only thing that can keep you in it is your passion for it.. without that quitting is inevitable. So find your passion and put your game down and never give up until you get yours...

Hustle Trend: Intimate Connections

Today’s Go Getters have less tolerance for Bullshit than the “Networkers” 80’s + 90’s. Networking by nature is a lot of smoke and mirrors, but when you add the bullshiters in the mix, it gets to be a job just to filter the real from the time-wasters.

When it comes down to getting things accomplished (whether it be work or just a good time)people are breaking out of the club/event networking experience and creating smaller more concentrated events with people that would enjoy each others presence.

Our own Bevy Smith has created quite a buzz with her “Dinner With Bevy” series that mixes Fashion execs with Heavy Hitters of the Music industry.

Bevy says…“I would be with my fashion people and bring up an artist, that would be multi-platinum, and they wouldn’t know them. So I said.. well you should meet them!” she added “Its about having the right people in the room.”

Her latest Dinner for Swizz Beatz and Industry Boss Sylvia Rhone was held in the Wine Room at Freemans. [This exceedingly low-profile restaurant materialized at the end of a nondescript Lower East Side alley unknown to even the most intrepid hipster.-new york mag]

Quote of the Day

'Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.'
-Buddha

We often talk about getting it right, especially when it's not going exactly how we think it should be. It always " I'm about to get it right." Personally I'm about to change that...Noooo scratch that...I Changed that. I'm not about to get it "right", naww I'm getting it "Right Now!" Kill the procrastinating and prognosticating.

Revolutions happen right now, let's fight now!!!

Why should Rappers Have All the Fun?

When it comes to dreaming a life and living a dream the media machine has it down pat how we are supposed to make money and how to spend it. And when it comes to pop culture the Rappers have mastered the art of making money look fun & easy. However, how does life look for US? How does our balling look? What is fun for us Go Getters?

How can We set up our life to where we are doing all of the things we love and make bread to do them?

One thing you can learn from emcees and athletes is that, most of them spent years of focus on a single thing and it HAS to be love to do something daily for years(in most cases) before you make a dollar at it. But when it pops for them they have already dreamt up the life that they wanted. It’s burned in their mind from all the years of dreaming.

Now the trick is to have courage to Dream up YOUR life and have the love, patience and persistence enough grind on your dream--whether that is being the world’s best parent or the world’s richest mogul(because at the end of the day it’s all the same). It might take years but when you make it , guess what, you will be living your dream.

Now Go Get It!

“Oh What a job this is… “

I came across this song last light, By Devin the Dude, Snoop Dogg, and Andre 3000. It is one of those songs that make you check yourself and your life to make sure you are doing what you love. Because in the track they are celebrating loving their life’s work.

Quote of the Day

“It’s not about a salary it’s all about reality.”
-KRS One –“My Philosophy”

My homeboy Todd who I grew up with in Miami suggested that quote….

Little did he know it is one of my personal themes(Hence the name True Pockets: Be real about what you do & get paid for it too!).

We get criticism from people who think that 21st Century Hustle is only about entrepreneurs. Not the case. When I say it’s not about a salary… I mean Don’t let that money make you…We can get so caught up with the dollar amount that we loose sight of original purpose and become a slave to the dollar. So bottom line in my philosophy is…..No matter how you earn your living, earn a “living” not a “dollar.”

"It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not."

Welcome to the Global Grind Culture

Welcome official blog for the Global Grind Culture(That is Go Getters around the globe doing what they do to make their living and live their life). Our mission is bring you content that will inspire you to follow your heart to the life you always wanted-Simple as that.

We also have a magazine that comes out 4-times a year-- 21st Century Hustle. Check that out if you can.(They sell out pretty quickly) I mean we’ve only put out one so far, and ‘it” sold out pretty quickly. The Mag is like the National Geographic of people on the grind. Since we’ve been out it has been a really amazing time.

It’s like a two-way discovery---the people discovering our magazine on the newsstand and us discovering them. The most beautiful thing in the world is to have your work received as you designed it. From the responses that we’ve gotten we are on the right path. The ones who were supposed to love it loved it and those who were supposed to hate-- hated [on] it. No in-between, just the way I like it. Go hard or Go home!!
