Muhammad Speaks: Global Grind v.s. Global Grind

We've been getting a lot of calls and emails regarding Russell Simmons' website globalgrind.com, from people who know our brand 21st Century Hustle: Global Grind Culture,

Yes the name was "inspired" by us

No we are not affiliated with it

Its simple- we created a concept that we called the Global Grind Culture and a nameless employee of Russell's "took" a liking to the sound of that. She's actually someone I know and met with regarding my brand... Yet she sat on our myspace page for months (myspace.com/globalgrind) and soaked up game. Then Russell and crew created a web 2.0 platform. As they sat around the boardroom table looking for names for this platform, the "nameless" one, threw global grind into the mix.

Russell liked that and ran with it...

Now tell me what the F____ am I suppossed to do.... Like Rocko said....

" You just Do You....Imma do Me!"

.....Now that we covered that let's get back to the regularly scheduled hustle.

In Motion,

Mr.Muhammad

"My Commitment" :Business For a 19 year-old

Note from a reader in the Philippines, who gives his experience as a young entrepreneur just getting started.

In my experience about what they call “business”. I started my business career when I was 18 years old approximately 4 months ago. I entered business, but in my first up to third month of doing my business I found it really really really hard. I’m a boy from Philippine and everybody thought that Philippines people are like a dust in very huge floor what we call earth. But in my mind something comes to strengthen my business career. I put it in this way: 1.) APGF 2.) DWYW 3.) NOCSM. These are the idea and feelings that comes and always produce by my mind when I’m doing my business.

  1. APGF – Always Put GOD First (because since I was birth in this world called “EARTH”, my parents always go to church every Sunday and I raise and live with teaching about GOD…)

  2. DWYW – Do What You Want (never force yourself in the things you do not want instead, focus on what you want and believe you want it)

  3. NOCSM – No One Can Stop Me (When an idea comes in my mind I make an act on it, even the whole world try to stop me, I do whatever it takes to done my idea and show it to the world)

This is MY RULE and anyone who going to apply this in their life. Be aware of what you decide because there are no exceptions when you see an idea in your mind. Put a big consequence and make it BIG like your life or loved ones…

Mzoli's Meat, Cape Town South Africa

Mzoli's Meat is cool hood spot, located in the township of Gugulethu, southeast of Cape Town. It has transcended its core butcher shop business to become a global tourist must see...

Mzoli's is a butchery, which doubles up as a very popular restaurant. But a restaurant with a difference - and soon we discovered it to be the ultimate social networking, user-generated business outside of Wikipedia

You start off in the butchery - choosing from a vast selection of meat cuts, Your meat is handed to you in a huge enamel bowl (secret marinate optional), which you take to the braai kings at the back of the shop for a good grilling.
Head out to the 'restaurant' section of the shop, around the corner and take a seat.

The first thing you'll soon notice is that there are no waitron staff. If you want drinks - you have to go to the house next to number 4 across the road.
You'll probably be offered a seat at the game of cards already underway and a Jack on the rocks, but if you're focussed on your mission - you'll get the beer you're after in the fridge in the kitchen
Bread (good with the marinade) can be bought at the spaza shop on the corner.

The idea is that Mzoli's supplies the meat (and a wet cloth if you're looking suitably messy) and leaves the rest to the neighbourhood business community to supply. Even the music is courtesy of restaurant goer's parked cars.

The place was packed by 2pm, with loads of people waiting for tables throughout the rest of the afternoon.

Is Graffiti Dead?

No! But here's a "underground" movement that can actually boost your property value.

Guerrilla gardening is political gardening, a form of nonviolent direct action, primarily practiced by environmentalists. Activists take over an abandoned piece of land which they don't own to grow crops or plants. Guerrilla gardeners believe in reclaiming land from perceived neglect or misuse and assigning a new purpose for it.

Guerrilla gardeners will sometimes carry out their actions late at night geared up with gardening gloves, watering cans, compost, seeds and plants. They plant and sow a new vegetable patch or flowering garden. Others will work more openly, actively seeking to engage with members of the local community....[wikipedia]

Twelve Tips From www.guerrillagardening.org

1. Spot some local orphaned land.
You will be amazed how many little grubby patches of unloved public space there are. Neglected flower beds, concrete planters sprouting litter and untamed plants, bare plots of mud.

2. Plan a mission.
Make a date in the diary for an evening attack, when trouble-making busy bodies are out of sight.

3. Find a local supply of plants.
The cheaper the better... The cheapest plants are ones that are free.

4. Choose plants for front line battle. Think hardy - resistant to water shortages and the cold, and in some locations pedestrian trampling! These plants need to look after themselves a lot of the time. Think impactful - colour, ever green foliage, scale. These plants need to really make a difference, for as much of the year as possible
5. Get some Wellington Shoes.

6.
Bag some bags. Plastic bags, bin liners (not only can they keep your feet clean), but they are essential for clearing up the deteritous of war.

7. Regular Watering. One of the responsibilities of a Guerrilla Gardener is ongoing tendering.

8.
Seed Grenades / seed bombs. For gardening those areas where access is difficult or a long dig is unsuitable, use a Seed Grenade - seeds and soil wrapped in an explosive capsule.

9.
Chemical Warfare. Boost your plants with natural chemicals.

10.
Garden with a girl. Having a girl on a dig (not only is as useful as the equivalent male troop) is a brilliant diversion should the cops pass by and get inqusitive.

11.
Spread the word Let people know what you have done with a few flyers under doors near the guerrilla gardening war zone, a poster taped to a phone box or bus stop, a marker in the soil

12.
Transportation. If you are not guerrilla gardening within walking distance from your home (the ideal) you will need some transportation

Why should Rappers Have All the Fun?

When it comes to dreaming a life and living a dream the media machine has it down pat how we are supposed to make money and how to spend it. And when it comes to pop culture the Rappers have mastered the art of making money look fun & easy. However, how does life look for US? How does our balling look? What is fun for us Go Getters?

How can We set up our life to where we are doing all of the things we love and make bread to do them?

One thing you can learn from emcees and athletes is that, most of them spent years of focus on a single thing and it HAS to be love to do something daily for years(in most cases) before you make a dollar at it. But when it pops for them they have already dreamt up the life that they wanted. It’s burned in their mind from all the years of dreaming.

Now the trick is to have courage to Dream up YOUR life and have the love, patience and persistence enough grind on your dream--whether that is being the world’s best parent or the world’s richest mogul(because at the end of the day it’s all the same). It might take years but when you make it , guess what, you will be living your dream.

Now Go Get It!

Welcome to the Global Grind Culture

Welcome official blog for the Global Grind Culture(That is Go Getters around the globe doing what they do to make their living and live their life). Our mission is bring you content that will inspire you to follow your heart to the life you always wanted-Simple as that.

We also have a magazine that comes out 4-times a year-- 21st Century Hustle. Check that out if you can.(They sell out pretty quickly) I mean we’ve only put out one so far, and ‘it” sold out pretty quickly. The Mag is like the National Geographic of people on the grind. Since we’ve been out it has been a really amazing time.

It’s like a two-way discovery---the people discovering our magazine on the newsstand and us discovering them. The most beautiful thing in the world is to have your work received as you designed it. From the responses that we’ve gotten we are on the right path. The ones who were supposed to love it loved it and those who were supposed to hate-- hated [on] it. No in-between, just the way I like it. Go hard or Go home!!
